***Important Note: being successful is continuously growing, even if the steps are small you must know that you are still successful! It’s so easy to be hard on ourselves and tell ourselves that we aren’t successful because we aren’t earning 2-6 figures from our blogs! But just remember that every little step is a success! Rome too was not built in one day! It took years to build it!

10 Tips For Making 2019 a Successful Year with Your Blog

1. Consistency!

If you want to see any results from blogging, you MUST be consistent with it! What I mean is that you must know: when you are going to publish a new post or when you are going to send a new newsletter to your subscribers or what time of the day is “blogging” time.

Consistency is KEY in any business! When you stop being consistent, your motivation goes down; you start “forgetting” you need to get things done! And then you think that blogging isn’t working for you!

To make 2019 an amazingly successful year, start being consistent! Begin with knowing your days! (which days you are going to publish a new post, which days you are going to send out a new newsletter, etc.)

2. Don’t listen to your “failure” voice!

Wow! Now, this is a HUGE struggle for many of the bloggers and entrepreneurs as well (me included!)! It’s so easy to “fall” for the voice in our heads that say that “I am not good enough, and there are thousands and thousands of other successful, amazing bloggers out there that create amazing content, so why in the world would anyone want to read my content?!

And when we start listening to that voice we begin to ask ourselves “why should I waste my time creating content and working on my blog if no one will read it?!”, “Why should I create amazing freebies that no one will sign up for” and the list of “why’s” just goes on and on!

If you want to be successful – YOU MUST STOP listening to that voice! I promise you that if you STOP, you will get more and more successful! 😉 Yay!

3. Set Mini Realistic Goals

I know that there is a big hype around the beginning of the year and everybody is talking about “new years resolutions,” “setting new year goals” etc.
So, creating goals is great! But, you MUST make them small and realistic!

Why?! Because when you make a goal that is too “big” for you, it will only make you feel a failure! 🙁

So, I am here to tell you that you SHOULD Set up your goals to be mini and realistic! I.e., Get 100 new email subscribers in the next 30 days (which is very doable if you create a good freebie and promote it!) or write a new blog post each week. ==> These goals are small so that you can achieve them!

RAPIDLY Grow Your Email List FREE Course!

Enroll for FREE to my “Rapidly Grow Your Email” Course where you will learn EVERYTHING you need to know to start building your list the RIGHT way! 😉

Remember if we aim too high with our goals, we will just disappoint ourselves, and then we will lose our hope for a successful blog because we think that we don’t have the “luck” needed for being successful.

4. Treat your blog like a REAL business!

By that I mean, show up EVERY SINGLE day of the year!!! (Yep, at least for the first couple of years!) Just like you would if you had a real business! You don’t have to work 8-9 hours per day to treat it like a business, but at least try and work 1-2 hours per day so that your blog will continue to grow! 🙂

The first year and also the second year, are the HARDEST! But, if you want to earn a living from blogging, you MUST treat it like a business! And it will pay off at the end! I promise! 😉

5. Always continue to educate yourself!

It’s known that if you want to be successful, you must continue and educate yourself to be successful! (and this isn’t only for blogging!)! There are many ways you can educate yourself in the blogging world! There is a TON of valuable information you can find online! But if you want to save time and a lot of hours researching, I highly recommend you invest in paid courses!

Here are some great courses I purchased this year (2017) – Which were worth my time and money!

Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing – an in-depth Affiliate Marketing course that teaches you EVERYTHING about Affiliate Marketing!

Pinterest Unpuzzled – An amazing course by Eden Fried which teaches you the basics of Pinterest.

Pin Practical – A GREAT course that teaches you advanced stuff about Pinterest.

Grow Your Blog Partying in 30 Days – This course is one of a kind! It teaches you an AMAZING technique that will skyrocket your blog and email subscribers! Highly recommended for anyone that is struggling with their blogs!!!

6. Never EVER compare your journey to others!

This one is a big one in the blogging world! It is so HARD not to compare your results with other successful bloggers!

Why, because of all of those “BIG” blogging “income reports” that are available for us to read!!!

I find that reading those “blog income reports” sometimes makes you wonder if blogging is really for you or it also makes you start thinking that something is wrong with your blog!

Because you are too blogging for the same amount of time (as in the income report) BUT, you are not even close to their income report! YIKES!
And then, it just makes you want to quit! And quit for GOOD!

So…Please, do yourself a favor and try to stop reading those income reports (at least until you are making a nice income yourself! 😉 )

Try and not compare your blogging journey to others! 😉 Just close your eyes and ears and continue your journey! 🙂 I promise that if you do so, you will reach your success, with your own amazing story to tell! 😉

7. Make real relationships with other awesome bloggers!

I love this one! Because when you connect with other bloggers, it makes your blogging journey somewhat easier!

Why? Because you can talk with someone that is going through (or went through) what you are going through! 🙂 And you will always have someone that is your cheerleader on those “not so motivating” days!

You can also create an “accountability group” where you all can chat together and be accountable for your blogging journey!

8. If you find that blogging is overwhelming for you – TAKE A BREAK!

Yep, I know I told you that consistency is important, but…if at any point in your blogging journey you feel overwhelmed with blogging, then it is highly recommended to take a break! (I, myself, took a LONG 4 months break – I hope you won’t take such a LONG break as I did!).

Sometimes taking a break is so IMPORTANT to your continued success!
So please, don’t feel sorry if you need a break! Take it!!!

And always remember to come back (fully pumped and energized) and continue your blogging journey!

9. Invest in tools that will help you grow your blog faster!

If you can, and you have the option, I highly recommend that you invest in tools that will help you grow your blog business FASTER!

i.e., Tailwind, ConvertKit, PicMonkey and more!
These tools are beneficial for your blogging business and will help you save a LOT of time! I highly recommend you start investing in these tools ASAP because they will help you grow your blog a lot faster! 😉 Yoo Hoo!

10. DON’T EVER STOP!

Do yourself a favor and DON’T EVER EVER STOP!!! NO MATTER WHAT!!! Don’t listen to the “failer” voice! Don’t compare yourself to others! Don’t give up! Don’t stop educating yourself! Don’t set unrealistic goals! Don’t stop investing in your business!!! JUST DON’T STOP! 🙂

Continue to blog, NO MATER what! Continue to share your AMAZING knowledge with the world!!! I promise you that people will READ your stuff!!! There will be people that will connect with YOU! They will connect with you because YOU are unique!

If you don’t stop, then you will reach the success you truly desire!

  1. Thank you so much for this post. I really needed to read this today. I’m just beginning my blogging journey and I easily get discouraged by the fear of failure. You post is an inspiration to me. Just the “kick in the butt” I needed to keep on going. Thank you so much.

  2. Hi Eva a great motivation to work really hard on my blog in 2018. I’m a new blogger and
Your point about investing in courses to continue your education really resonated with me. I had no budget at all when I started my blogging journey. So I used all the free material on the web. But it was only when I bought the GBTK and completed a few of the courses that I really
Focused and made progress with my blog. Thanks for an inspirational post.

    1. Thanks for your comment dear!
O…The GBTK is AWESOME! Glad you used it! 😉
Good Luck with the upcoming year! I am sure it’s going to be an AMAZING ride with your blog! 😉

  3. Thank you for the motivational words, especially, around that time of the year. My goals for 2018 are: 1. monetize my blog (I have a travel blog and I still struggle to find a good way to monetize it, especially, finding something which I really like myself), 2. to structure my blogging time and stick to that structure ( e.g. a lot more automation, and preparing stuff in advance and schedule it (I tried it the past three months and it´s so incredible how much time I save when I sit down one evening and schedule a whole month of instagram posts etc.) 3. travel related: New Orleans, Kuba, Colombia and saving more mony for Alaska 😀 Have a succesful and happy year yourself!

    1. You said Alaska?! That’s where I was born! <3 YOU MUST TRAVEL to Alaska! 😉
Hopefully, we will go there soon! 🙂
I wish you an AWESOME blogging year! 😉
Thank you so much for your lovely comment! <3

  7. I’m a relatively new blogger and have been writing for about a year. I love it when I come across posts like yours because they are always full of relevant information for those of us who are still figuring it out as we go.
