The 2 MOST POPULAR Ways For Making A Full Time Income From Blogging (without creating a product!)

this post may contain affiliate links. for more information read my disclosure page.

Are you blogging for a few months now…and your earnings are around $0.88?!

I know how frustrating that can be! And how hopeless and unhopeful blogging can be! Especially when you read all those BIG FAT income reports that claim “how I made $xxx or $x,xxx in 4 months of blogging!

If this is the case for you, this post will be an eye-opener for you, and hopefully, your income will grow tremendously!!!

When starting a new blog, there is this  big excitement where you feel that…”Hey, I can do this too!” Because that’s what most successful bloggers claim! “If I can do it…You can definitely do it too!

But I want to be realistic here; blogging is (deep breath)… NOT EASY as it seems! Especially when you are working at a full-time job…or a full-time mom (like me!)

The reality is…

that blogging is a lot of HARD work! The reality is that most new bloggers (up to 2 full years) barely make $100 per month! Yep! You read that right! So, if you are in that range, know that you are doing o.k.! And just keep on going! 😉

In this post, I will share the 2 MOST POPULAR ways to help you create more income from your blog!

If you follow these 2 simple ways, there is NO WAY you won’t be able to create a full-time income from your blog!

Before I talk about these methods, YOU must work on your blog daily! I mean, don’t publish a post once in a blue moon. You must take ACTION and work…work…even if it seems like it’s “just wasting your time!”

If you are consistent with your blog! There is no reason you won’t make a full-time income from it! But, you must be realistic and know that it can take you up to 2 years to create such an income.

OK….let’s talk business, shall we?! 😉

The 2 MOST POPULAR ways to make a full-time income from blogging:

1. Having an Email List!

If you want to create a passive income from your blog, Building a list is a MUST! It is recommended to start building a list from day 1!

Take a look at all the successful bloggers out there…they all have 1 thing in common…

They all have a HUGE list!

Throughout my online experience of more than 8 years, I always heard that “the money is in the list“!

To be honest with you all, I didn’t have a list for many years! I started building a list only when I started taking this blog seriously!

It took me many years to understand that growing a list is a MUST if you want a passive income online and not from selling your own product.

So, if you don’t have your own list yet, I HIGHLY recommend you start building one ASAP! 🙂

2. Affiliate Marketing

This is one of the BEST ways to monetize your blog without creating your own product.

Take a look at these bloggers and see for yourself how much money they are creating simply from Affiliate Marketing!!!

  1. Michelle from MakingSenseOfCents.com
  2. Pat Flynn from SmartPassiveIncome.com
  3. Suzi from StartAMomBlog.com
  4. Megan from LoveFamilyHealth.com

As you can see, the numbers are INSANE.

The beauty of Affiliate Marketing is that…

  • You don’t have to create your own product (which takes time and hard work!)
  • You are getting paid by sharing your honest opinion about a product with others.
  • All you have to do is place your affiliate link in your post, and you earn a commission when people buy the product/service/course.

These are only some of the benefits of Affiliate Marketing! 😉

If you would like to MASTER Affiliate Marketing, I highly recommend Michelle’s “Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing” Course – Where she teaches you EVERYTHING you need to know to start generating an income from Affiliate Marketing! (Yes, I also took her course! You can read my honest review here.)

These are the 2 most popular ways the majority of “full-time bloggers” create their full-time income from their blogs! 🙂

I hope this post helped you understand that “Growing a List” and “promoting other products” are crucial for creating a full-time income from your blog.

Of course, you have a few more ways you can generate an income from your blog: creating your own product, Sponsered posts, and ads.

But if you want “passive income,” start building a list and promoting products you think are worth sharing! 😉

In the comments below, please let me know if you already have a list or if you have already tried affiliate marketing without much success. I would LOVE to help you as much as possible! 🙂

  1. Hi there
Thanks for sharing I`ve been blogging for a while now but have not considered having a list, how ignorant of me, I remember someone saying once that the money is in the list.
    Will sure start doing this

  2. I definately fall into that category where I see income reports from other bloggers and wonder how theyre making so much money, when I’ve made about $37 total in all the months I’ve spent blogging! I would love to increase my monthly income. Thanks for your tips on affiliate marketing and email strategies.

  3. I have a very small list, but after reading your post, I will make the most of it. Thanks for the encouraging post.

  4. I have always heard e-mail lists are where it’s at! I am putting a lot more effort in now trying to build it! I think the nice thing about affiliate marketing is that, like you said creating your own product is a lot of time, and affiliate marketing isn’t. As a busy mom with young kids, affiliate marketing is much more manageable right now!

  5. Hey Eva!

Love your blog and design! I get so happy coming here 🙂

You are right about these methods. Email list is important even if you don’t sell a product. I had one for my freelance writing service and also for Twins Mommy before I created any courses.

Affiliate marketing is key too! I couldn’t believe the success I’ve been having on Twins Mommy and over on my other blog! It’s a nice side income for sure!

I think you also touched on a point too – you need to diversify your income to really profit from blogging!

    1. Awwww….DEAR!!!
I ALWAYS LOVE to read a comment from you!!!
Thank you SO much for your kind words and lovely comment!
Comments like yours keep me focused on creating more content on my blog!
      Love Ya!

    1. OOO..Don’t get rid of it!!! But make sure you don’t make your list “COLD”…You must send them emails once in a while…or once a week (is the best)

  6. Thanks for this post. I am currently trying to build my list with true followers. And I have done some affiliate marketing, but no income yet. My blog is 4 months old. The items I suggest are $30 or less so it would take a lot of commissions in order to make money through them. Any ideas?

    1. What is your niche? 🙂
Send me an email and I will gladly help you out! 😉

  7. Affiliate marketing is definitely a great way to earn money from your blog. It does take some time though to build a trustworthy relationship with your target audience. But it’s something every blogger should try.

  8. This is a great post! I’m just starting to get into blogging, list building, and affiliate marketing. I’m still trying to get my rhythm and find my sweet spot. This has been quite informative.

    1. Thank you so much for your comment! 😉 Good luck with building your list and affiliate marketing! 😉

  9. Hi Eva,

Your post is on point! Having an email list is truly important for bloggers for generating a full-time income. It’s about the loyal email followers that read the content, appreciate the blog and are always looking forward to hearing how we can help them.

Thanks for writing this out. It was so good to read your post.

  10. Hi thanks for this post, I’m new to blogging and really wanting to start affiliates…. I have some questions….
I am just using wordpress… would I need to buy my own domain/plan before being accepted or beginning affiliates?
When you say email list, is this the followers of your blog? Would you recommend a weekly email line up of what’s to come on the blog & some nice graphic to engage them? Or an email summarising what they’ve missed on the blog? & finally, do you email directly from the blog? –
    Sorry newbie! ?

    1. No Problem! I love questions! 😉 I sent you an email…I hope you got it! 😉

  11. Awesome design! Love your blog! I’m new to blogging and your info is super helpful. Thanks so much!

  12. I learned the value of the email list from my EBA 3.0 course. &,,am having trouble generating info.e through affiliate posts.

  13. This is great! I’m signing up for the courses you recommend! Thanks for putting this together.
