When you started your blog, you were all excited and full of passion for making your blog succeed! RIGHT?

You told yourself that you will create killer content that people will love, your goal was to create a blog where the readers will get valuable information and you promised yourself that you can do this!

But, after a while, you found yourself…working hours among hours….and giving all that you got…into your blog….and nothing much happened with it!

Your page views are low…you don’t have any comments on your posts, you barely have people subscribe to your list!

And then, without any notice, you suddenly “Smash” into the wall….the wall of self-doubt and self-confidence.

Yep, I have been there too!

In fact…I hit that wall too many times! But did it prevent me from continuing???

Hell NO! It didn’t! 🙂 because here I am, ain’t I?!

How NOT to fail with your blog

I know how tough it can be when you are doubting yourself, doubting your blog, doubting your content….and doubting your ability to create a blog that will be successful!

Therefore I created this post, to help you understand how YOU can be successful with your blog!

How NOT to fail with your blog?!

Tip 1 – Always Remember Your WHY!

When you get to a point in your blogging journey where you feel like it’s the time to give up….that you are a “loser” because your blog isn’t growing as you expected or because you didn’t earn any income from it after a few weeks or a couple of months.

You must remind yourself….WHY did you start blogging?! (don’t say that it was just to create an income so I can live better!)

If it was because you want to earn a nice income from it….then go deeper! Why do you want to earn an income?! Is it because you want to buy a new house? Is it because you want to travel more? Is it because you want to help your kids and give them all that you can?….

Go deep and ask yourself WHY!

When you will find your real reason you created the blog….It will give you a nice kick in the b***! (Excuse my language 🙂 )

REMEMBER: it is always easy to give up! The hard part is to stick with what’s “hard” for us….but in the long run! It will make your life much easier!

Tip 2 – Commit to blogging at least for 1 full year!

Yes! You heard me right! You MUST give blogging a chance!

1 full year of blogging will let you know for real if blogging is for you or not…

The idea here is that there will be many times where you simply would want to give up…but the problem is…that it takes time and hard effort to get your blog noticed in your niche!

1 year may seem a long time for you…but trust me! When you are enjoying what you do….you will see how time FLYES! 😉

Tip 3 – Find a few friend bloggers which can be accountable with!

Blogging can sometimes be a lonely world, especially when you barely have any support!

I am sure that there are some of you that don’t even share with your close friends about your new blog and your new dream of creating a successful blog where you give tips and advice about your passion in life!

Maybe some of you talk with their friends and family….but there isn’t much support from them because they think that blogging is just a “waste” of your time…and they want to let you know that you are just wasting your time…and you probably won’t make any income from your blog!

So…

To help you go through those tough days where you want to give up, you will NEED those blogger friends to help you go through it!

Because only they will know exactly what you are going through…because they are going through those days themselves! (Feel free to contact me if you need any encouragement along your blogging journey! I would be more than happy to help you out! 😉 )

Tip 4 – Don’t compare your success with other successful bloggers!

When you are just starting your blogging journey, it is totally normal if you aim yourself to became a successful blogger! That’s an AWESOME thing to aim for!

But….

….Don’t EVER EVER compare your journey with an already successful blogger!

Why? Because this will only let you down if you work HARD on your blog and work so hard to grow it….But….it’s growing slower than you expected it will grow…

You thought that your blog will grow FAST just like the other amazing blogs your read…that are making thousands of dollars each and every month…

And now….you are blogging for a good amount of months….and you barely made $100 from your blog!

If you compare yourself with other bloggers….you will get unmotivated so quickly that you will just want to give up…but you never really know…if your blog can suddenly take off!

So, please, don’t give up just because your blogging journey is a bit longer than usual! Stick to it for at least a year! 😉

Tip 5 – Don’t stop educating yourself!

In order to reach some kind of level of success, you MUST educate yourself on a daily basis…if not daily make it weekly!

In the blogging world…there is SO MUCH to learn about! You can literally drown from all of the information you can find and learn from!

What I HIGHLY recommend you do is learn and master each method for a few weeks or a couple of months!

Then after you mastered one method…move on to the other method!

What do I mean about methods?

  • Pinterest – Learn how you can drive CRAZY traffic to your blog using Pinterest! This will take you time! It’s not an overnight thing that you can learn! You will need to build your own strategy that you find most successful for you!
  • Affiliate Marketing – This is one way you can monetize your blog with! There are so many things to know about Affiliate Marketing…that it will take the time to learn everything and to implement it into your blog! ( Making Sense Of Affiliate Marketing is a course I personally took and I highly recommend it to my readers who are interested in mastering Affiliate Marketing! 😉 If you would like, you can read my course review here)
  • Building your email list the right why

And there is a TON of more information, tip & tricks in the blogging business…..so please, give yourself the time to learn it all! And take it one step at a time! Don’t try to learn everything in one day! Or 1 month…because you will get burned out!

Remember, blogging is a journey! Not a short story! It’s a LONG journey…it will be bumpy along the way…but it is beautiful! 😉

If you are going through a tough day and you feel like giving up on your blogging journey, I highly recommend you read this post!

  1. These are great tips! I especially think #4 is crucial–though it’s so hard to remember that! Thanks for the great reminder!

  2. These are great tips! I’m into my second year as a blogger, and I definitely hit that wall several times during that first year. I’m pushing through, educating myself on how to build my blog into a business, and I’m seeing small successes!

  3. Thanks for this information. I had issues with blog yesterday and was in tears. I wondered if I should keep doing it. I got through the issues with my host and got things back up and running. Thanks for the motivation

  4. I’ve bee blogging for more than 4 years and these tips are spot on! Making new friends and remembering my WHY whenever I left down helped get me though the slow times. Sometimes comparing current stats to where I was before helps me realize how far I’ve come.

    1. OOO…WOW! 4 Years?! You are AMAZING girl!
You are an inspiration to all of us!
Yes, it’s also good to compare your stats once in a while…but in the beginning, it’s not good to compare the stats every day…even every week…it’s better to compare the stats once in a few months….

  5. “Don’t stop educating yourself”… Whenever I learned something big (like hiding a image in my blog – it was big for me 😉 ), I realize how much there still is to learn… about everything.

And not to compare with anyone else. I think we can remember everyone doesn’t have the same amount of time, knowledge and resources (and maybe tech-skills?) available to start with. As long as we grow and learn and become better as the day/month before it is progress and should be celebrated.

Thank you for this great post!

    1. TRUE!
Nobody works the same…some of us are full-time moms…that have only 1-2 hours a day to work on the blog…but….in the long run… it will be a beautiful successful blog! 😉

  6. Wow, all your tips are super useful. I’ve had moments where I felt like blogging was too time-consuming. I had an inkling of what I needed to do to keep going but reading these tips is very encouraging.

    1. OOO….Thanks! 😉
Yes, blogging can be tough sometimes! It takes a LOT of time and a LOT of effort to build it up…but it’s worth every moment! 😉

  7. Excellent post. Full of encouragement and realism. I have been blogging for six months and for me there are so many non-financial benefits that I have gained from this experience. If you blog solely for expected quick financial reward, you are going to be disappointed.

    1. TRUE! It takes time to build a blog that is profitable! But if you continue…and don’t give up…you will make it! 😉

  8. Hi Eva,
Brilliant post, I really needed to read this. Sometimes I fall into the self-doubt trap, and just want to give up… Thing is, I’ve already come this far, I can’t just stop.

I must remember my “why”, like you said.

    thanks for this post.
    Take care,

    Dani.

    1. AWW….Thank you so much for your beautiful comment!
Yes, Self-doubt is hard….but the MOST IMPORTANT are to not listen to that voice! You are AMAZING as you are!
You create unique content because it’s your unique voice! 😉
I wish you all the best!
      Eva.

  9. This is so good!! Thank you, Eva, for speaking truth to us. We all have our moments of discouragement and need to be reminded of these great 5 tips!!
You just motivated me to keep doing my best every day. 😉

    1. AWWW…thanks my dear friend! You are the one that motivates me as well! You are AWESOME! And I LOVE your attitude!
      Thanks for your beautiful comment!
      Love ya! 😉

  10. Yay!! Thanks for the tips.. It is really hard on the beggining!! But it feels good to have bloggers friends =)

    1. Yes, the beginnings are always the hardest! But keep it up! You will make it if you never ever give up!

  11. These are great tips I’ve been blogging a few months and I am finding it really hard at present and this is helping me keep the faith xx

    1. Yay! I am happy I could give you some hope! 😉
Keep it up! You will make it if you stick with it! Don’t ever give up!

  12. These tips are great! I started almost 2 months ago. I’ve made probably $35 but one thing I find myself doing is comparing myself to others. Thank you for that tip! ????

    1. Thanks! 😉
Yes, Please…Don’t EVER EVER give up! 😉

    1. Ooooooo….my main goal of my blog is to inspire and help as many bloggers as possible!
You have just brighten my day!
      Thanks!

  13. Great tips! I have been blogging for a few years now but I haven’t grown much, mainly due to #5! Once I made my blog, I stopped reading blogging tips and posts about blogging. Oh how quickly I fell behind! There’s always so much to learn!

    1. Thanks so much for stopping by to read this post! ????

  14. Great blog post! There are certainly moments of my life where I want to give up on my blog and loose all motivation for blogging. I then take a step back for between 1-3 weeks usually and by that time I’ve got back my love for blogging. I think everyone can lose motivation at some point but when you keep gaining it back that’s when you know its for you.

    1. Yes, sometimes a break is so needed! I know myself! 😉
Yep, if after you take a break and the blogging bug kicks back in…then you are on your way to success! Yay! 😉

  15. Girl these tips are so on point and something every new blogger needs to hear! Thanks for sharing!

  16. Yea, yep, yes! I was nodding my head throughout this whole post – some great advice. I definitely think you need to remember your why and find friends who “get it” – because so many people will not understand why you blog!

    1. OOOO…SO happy to see that you enjoyed this post!
      Thanks for your LOVELY comment!

  17. Eva, this is a great post! I completely agree with all of it especially getting educated. I am a new blogger and appreciate the reminder that I don’t need to learn it all in one month. 🙂

    1. Thank you SO MUCH, Stephanie!
Yes, the key is not to overwhelm yourself with info!
      Good Luck!

    1. You’re very much welcome, Rita! Thanks for reading my post! 😉

  18. Thanks for this! My blog hasn’t been receiving a lot of traction or interest even though it’s been a little over two months which is super discouraging, but I just need to remind myself that I’m working towards something, and that I need to dig a little deeper!

    1. Awww..You are very much welcome!! 😉
You are just starting! The beginnings are the HARDEST! Just keep what you are doing…and your blog will grow!
      Thanks for your comment!

  19. Very good tips. I keep going back and forth between a yes-I-can-do-this attitude and ready to quit. I can’t seem to get anything the way I want it to be, and it is taking me forever to get posts ready to publish. Maybe I’m making it all harder than it should be. I’m at one of those ready-to-quit moments right now. I feel like I am in way over my head with everything I need to learn to make this work. Learning it all is leaving me no time to actually work on posts. Your #4 is probably my biggest problem. I think I need to step back and just take things one at a time. I feel like I shouldn’t even look at any of my favorite blogs any more until I can get mine going.

    1. OOO…PLEASE don’t give up!!! I know…it also takes me forever to write a post…but that’s a good sign…it shows that you don’t write low-quality content which is IMPORTANT! 😉
You can do this! Don’t give up! 😉

  20. Great post! I’ll have to keep coming back to it to remind myself I’m just a beginner. I find it’s hardest to stop comparing to others that have taken years to build their blog up.

  21. Great article. You have pin-pointed some key points like networking with fellow bloggers and to keep learning every day. Surely its worth following these things for any blogger, be it novice or an expert. Thanks a lot for making such a post.
